QATAR---The Museum of Islamic Art has a collection of Islamic art spanning centuries and regions. From pottery and tiles to mathematical instruments and pen boxes, the MIA showcases how ordinary items were made beautiful with intricate, geometrical patterns, an indication of how art was part of everyday life. The museum was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect I.M. Pei and constructed on a man-made island along the Corniche. The Corniche is a paved walkway around Doha Bay. [link]
